ran SO course without up back pushing Logann and running with Jackson. About 25 mins. hard pushing her! dropped them off and ran down Pierce Olive until the flag and back. Total time was about 50 mins. felt good, not a great course during that time of day though

attempted to run at the gym but had a really bad stomach ache so only made it 2 mins. was suppose to do tempo run today.
lifted on the machines a little, boring.

felt good thought we were running fast but our time was slow 37:01 strange?
liked running with her need to do it more often
it was nice getting out this early really cool out this morning

have had a bladder infection for the last few days. Ran this morning at the gym for 30mins pretty slow. it hurt! going to the dr. this afternoon.

beginning is always tough legs don't want to move. feet started burning at 45. felt 2nd wind though about same time. ran extra ten mins. felt so good. wore heartrate monitor avg 156 john says it was too high, have to slow down on next run

4.175 miles ( Wore GPS for first time to clock mileage)
somewhere around 40 mins. stopped a lot for Jackson to do his thing
ran faster up hills approx 9min/miles versus downhills - how do you explain that. hope this half in raleigh is hilly.
muggy today high 103! felt good though. other than my new injury, pain in the arch of my lefgt foot. don't know why. really need to get my orthotics looked at and get new shoes.

Cool enough though to run but had to stop back home for a water bottle. I never seem to remember how dehydrated I am in the morning.
Had a pretty good run, tried to race the hills. or most of them. Avg. pace. Sprinted the end felt good, no aches or pains today to report. Finally!

My mp3 player is dead. Got really wet the other day when my bottle of water dumped in the bag it was in! Maybe i can finally get my iPod.
BodyFlow 11:20 - got through hips. quit to go run for more cardio but got on the treadmill and stopped after 4 mins. Wasn't into it today. Need music to get me moving i think.

Bummed about my crappy week but John tells me its a sign i need to cut back, he's probably right

lots to see to take my mind off the task. too many stairs though. my butt is paining for it. kinda hot and sunny. but the dry heat is nice, limits all the typical sweating. way out was harder than the return. picked it up at the end.

30 minutes on elliptical w/arms, interval hills and resistance. HARD!
30 minutes on treadmill. easy run with a couple pickups 5.8-6.8 HARD!

running in vegas is tough after a night out. not hungover but the alcohol made it tough to move. lesson learned

watched 2 highschool girls race on the treadmill for 30 mins. man am i slow! at least i felt better when their coach came in to get them. i forget sometimes that i am only an amateur lucky to be breathing while running these days. this was never a sport i excelled at as many of you know. but its good to go out of your comfort zone once and awhile.

not a great workout, was suppose to do 6 repeats but was dying after 5. screwed up recovery jog, was suppose to be 2 mins not 60 secs. maybe thats why the workout felt so hard
it was really hot in the gym today which didn't help either.
next time i may try same incline with slower speed and longer recovery

Tempo was tough to hold for 3 mins. Liked the w/o though. Peanut butter sandwich for lunch seemed to help get me through!
Still need to get the treadmill fixed, the speeds are way off. Next week I'll do tempo at gym to test speed.

11:20 Yoga/Pilates Class - new version, awesome. Lots of planks, and core work. Felt great to stretch after all the running this week too

Thurs July 11

11am workout at Gold's. 30 mins on elliptical runner, and 30 mins of random interval biking level 10. Biking after the running was tough. Starving post-w/o, maybe need to increase calories pre-w/o.

Legs sore from lifting yesterday. First half was tough, second easier. Feet blistering after 30 mins, even with different sneakers and orthotics! Decided afternoon is not the best time for me, need to run early in the morning!

Alright I'm finally ditching the old pen and paper log for this method. I've been keeping track of my workouts since I joined Gold's Gym in Dec. I was always teasing JOhn about his workout logging but I have to agree that it is nice to see your progress and its a bit motivational too. What can I say I'm hooked. My resolution this year was to go to the gym 100 times. If I haven't achieved it yet I'm pretty darn close.
I'm also still considering running the Phoenix marathon the day after my 30th birthday. We'll have to see how my feet hold up for that though. I'm still having issues even after investing in some custom orthothics. I really think the marathon would be a good way to roll into the 30s though. I'm kinda dreading this birthday!
